Valuing in Decision-Making
"Because decisions about 'What is the good, the true, the beautiful?' 'What is worth striving for?' and 'what ought to be done?' are implicit in every human endeavor, Alverno includes valuing in decision-making at the core of each student's educational process."
The main goal in teaching and assessing for valuing at Alverno is for the "student to develop the ability to make decisions in all realms of her life using a more conscious awareness of " how her values emerged, how they are changing in light of new experiences and learning, and how they affect how she chooses to think and act."
(2005). Ability-based learning outcomes, p. 29.
